ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO): It took about an hour for firefighters to bring a Steuben County house fire under control early Monday morning.

Around 1:30 crews from the Angola Fire Department were sent to a home to Steuben County Road South 935 East, that’s about 10 miles east of Angola

When they arrived they found heavy smoke and fire shooting from the roof. Heavy winds hampered efforts to bring the flames under control. At one point, eight neighboring fire departments were called in to help.

The home sustained extensive damage.
