FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A federal judge has dropped a lawsuit filed by a parent who claimed a Fort Wayne Community Schools' teacher violated her son's First Amendment rights.
Both FWCS and the plaintiffs agreed to drop the suit against Forest Park Elementary second grade teacher Michelle Meyer.
In June, the boy and his mother filed suit against Meyer that claimed she interrogated the boy about his beliefs after he told another student he didn't believe in God. His punishment was to sit alone during lunch for three days. Meyer claimed his punishment was not because of the boy's beliefs about God, but rather his impact on another student.
It's not known what led to the suit being dismissed.
