FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne's first Blue Star Banner recipient is being recognized.

Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Tom Henry will present Brian Kiess with the Blue Star Banner that has been on display in his honor since May.

Kiess is a City of Fort Wayne employee in the Public Works Division and recently returned home from deployment with the United States Army Reserve. He was the first recipient of a Blue Star Banner, which recognizes City of Fort Wayne residents and City government employees who are actively deployed.

The presentation will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Mayor's Office.
