Sheriff, Paulding County Considering Reopening Jail

PAULDING, Ohio (WOWO): Should the Paulding County Jail be re-opened? It's been a hot topic since county leaders shuttered the facility with budget concerns in 2008.

The sent inmates to the nearby Putnam County Jail.

Sheriff Jason Landers is tackling the issue in a series of eight public meetings through next week.

Landers says it would cost least $300,000 to $400,000 to bring the jail online and that would require a property tax increase in a voter approved tax levy.
