Florida named best place to retire in 2016, Indiana not so much

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There is more for retirees in Florida than just warm weather.

Analysts at WalletHub named the sunshine state the best place to retire based on affordability, quality of life and health care.

The analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia to determine the best and worst states to retire in 2016.

Florida topped the list after ranking second in the affordability category rank, third in quality of life and 15th in health care.

Indiana ended up 34th on the list. Indiana ranked 25th in affordability, 37th in quality of life and 42nd in health care.
The Hoosier state is also the second in lowest adjusted cost of living.

Ohio landed 27th on the list and Michigan ranked 17th. Rhode Island came in last place.
