Fort Wayne detective formally charged in drunk driving crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne Police Department detective has been formally charged for his alleged role in a drunk driving crash.

Brent Roddy, 36, was arrested Wednesday and has been charged with OWI endangering a person, OWI, reckless driving causing injury and leaving the scene of a crash.

Police were called to the intersection of Rothman Road and Denise Drive just after 1 a.m. Sunday, March 27th for a personal injury crash. A street sign, utility pole, and a Frontier Communication phone box was damaged, but Roddy wasn’t anywhere to be found. He was located a mile away from the scene.

His blood alcohol test came in at .21 percent, which is nearly three times the legal limit.
