FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The History Center in Fort Wayne is receiving some statewide recognition.

The Indiana Historical Society has given the Center the 2016 Indiana History Outstanding Event or Project Award. Every year the award goes to an organization for “an exceptional education event or history project.”

For the History Center, that project was 200@200, a Bicentennial Legacy Project that celebrates Fort Wayne’s progress through Indiana’s 200 years of statehood with physical displays, virtual exhibits and media presentations.

Staff members hand-picked artifacts from the museum’s 28,000 piece collection to highlight a different historical theme each month.

Find out more about the exhibit at www.fwhistorycenter.com.
