Fort Wayne man accused of attempted murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is accused of attempted murder after police say he shot at a woman.

Willie Amos was arrested and charged with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, a woman called police and said someone was chasing her car and shooting at her.

Police say Amos started chasing the woman from the 400 block of Lenox Avenue. He rear-ended her vehicle near the intersection of Harrison Street and Lexington Avenue.

Her car was pushed over a curb and Amos started shooting at her, according to police. Witnesses say she was able to get away, but Amos kept ramming the back of her vehicle. This kept happening until they both crashed.

She was hospitalized in serious condition. Amos ran away, but police caught him, found a handgun and arrested him, according to police.
