Fort Wayne Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind.(WOWO): A 24-year-old Fort Wayne man has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a weekend hit-and-run crash, according to information reported by WPTA and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

WPTA reports that Daquon Sincere Reed died at the scene near the intersection of Hanna Street and East Sherwood Terrace.

According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, Reed died from multiple blunt force injuries, and his death was ruled an accident.

WPTA reports Reed is the 17th person to die in a traffic-related incident in Allen County this year.

The station reports the crash remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

According to WPTA, Fort Wayne Police believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the collision.
