FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The average price of a gallon of gas in Fort Wayne dropped about 14 cents in the past week.

Gas prices averaged $1.98 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Fort Wayne. Prices in town were 36 cents lower than they were the same day a year ago, and 14 cents lower than a month ago.

The national average dropped half a cent in the past week to $2.12 per gallon, which is 12 cents lower than last month and almost 50 cents lower than this day a year ago.

Analysts say a strong jobs report may cause a brief pause early this week in any further drops in gas prices.
