Fort Wayne Community Schools is celebrating the opening of a new accessible and sensory-friendly playground at Bunche Montessori.

School leaders, families, and community partners gathered Friday to mark the completion of the project, designed to better serve children with mental and physical disabilities.

According to 21 Alive News, organizers say the Bunche-Towles PTA originally hoped to raise 30-thousand dollars, but community support pushed donations past 113-thousand dollars.

The extra funding allowed for additional play equipment and future improvements, helping create a more inclusive space for children and families across Fort Wayne.
