FWCS May See Loss in Revenue Due to Nutrition Regulations

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Healthier foods in school cafeterias might mean a loss of revenue for Fort Wayne Community School’s nutrition department…and an increase in wasted food. Two years ago, the district implemented a wellness policy that includes guidelines developed by the district with community input on the kinds of snacks and drinks sold in vending machines, that according to The Journal Gazette. School officials say it’s likely fewer students will buy goods, thus the program would take in less revenue.
