Gang Member Sentenced for Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne gang member who pleaded guilty for his role in a double shooting this winter was sentenced Monday.

In June, Twenty-four year old Trameil Jackson pleaded guilty, in a plea deal, to aggravated battery. In exchange he'll serve 20 years in prison. He was facing charges that included attempted murder. Last February, DeAndrew Moore and Devonte Jones were found shot near Decatur Road.

The conviction highlights an early success in the city's new Violent Crimes Unit.
