FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): GOP precinct chairs have picked the successor to former State Representative Phyllis Pond.
Fort Wayne attorney Casey Cox was selected with 37 of 59 votes.
Six other candidates were competing for the seat. Cox will begin as the Indiana House 85th District Representative immediately. That covers northern and much of eastern Allen County.
After 35 years in office, Pond resigned in early September citing health concerns.
She died three weeks ago.
