BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) _ The Lilly Endowment is funding an effort to create an economic development plan for 11 southern and southwestern Indiana counties.
 
  The Indianapolis-based foundation announced Tuesday that it's awarded a 12-month, $650,000 grant to study possible economic opportunities in the counties.
 
  That study will look at recommendations from local leaders, workforce development experts, community foundations and the public for boosting the region's economy.
 
  The Herald-Times reports the study's findings are scheduled to go into a written economic development plan for the region by the middle of 2014.
 
  The 11 counties that will be studied are: Brown, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Owen and Washington counties.
