LEESBURG, Ind. (WOWO): One person was seriously wounded in head-on collision east of Leesburg in Kosciusko County Friday afternoon.

Authorities say 77-year-old Gregory Smith of North Webster was transported to a Fort Wayne hospital with a severe head laceration. The other driver, 27-year-old Randall Shepherd of Warsaw refused treatment.

Investigators say just after 3:30 p.m. Friday, Shepherd was headed west on Armstrong Road near County Road 200 East when another vehicle stopped suddenly. Shepherd then swerved, sending his SUV into the opposite lean slamming into Smith's pick-up.
