Hundreds march, rally for peace in Indianapolis…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Several hundred people took part in a peace march and rally in Indianapolis, saying violence affects everyone.

WTHR-TV reports the crowd chanted, “We want peace!” as it moved through the streets of the city's northwest side on Wednesday. The march and rally were organized by the Hispanic Pastor's Association of Indiana.

Eagles of God Church Pastor Yerman Salazar says violence has been increasing in the city. The city last month announced it was deploying about 100 more police officers to city streets to combat a rise in violent crime. Following the march, a peace rally was held at Northwestway Park.

March co-organizer Obispo Rogers says a lot of men of God are praying for Indianapolis.
