Huntington Expansion Shot Down

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): Huntington's plans to add 4-and-a-half square miles to the city has been stuck down by city council.

The proposed annexation of Huntington was dismissed in a 4-to-3 vote. Our partners in News at 21 Alive say Mayor Brooks Fetters preliminarily asked the council about four other phases of the annexation, and they voted to not proceed with the plans.

The intent was to use the land to develop new residential and commercial projects.
