I-69 Slowdowns Planned for Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): If you're driving on Interstate 69 this weekend, be prepared to slow down. The Indiana Department of Transportation says to expect rolling slow-downs and ramp closures throughout both Saturday and Sunday to allow a low-flying helicopter to pull American Electric Power lines over I-69, near County Line Road, weather permitting.
Specifically, the slow-downs will happen between 6am and noon both days, on I-69 northbound between mile markers 290 and 293, and southbound between mile markers 296 and 293.
The operation will also require the restriction of the far left lane of I-69 in both directions, at mile marker 293, as well as the temporary closure of the ramp from Lafayette Center Road to I-69 southbound. The ramp will be closed during the series of 20-minute rolling slow-downs.
Electronic message boards will alert motorists of the rolling slowdown.
