Indiana Residents Continue to Brace for Big Weekend Winter Storm

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana residents are bracing for a major winter storm that's forecast to dump nearly a foot of snow on parts of the state and bring a wave of bitter cold.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of Indiana from Saturday night through Sunday night. The warning area covers all but Indiana's southwestern counties and east-central and southeastern Indiana.

Meteorologists say the storm could dump six to 10 inches of snow on Indiana by Sunday night.

Winds of 20 mph or higher will whip up the new snow and snow which fell earlier in the week, creating near blizzard-like conditions.

The storm will also usher in sub-zero readings and wind chills of up to 40 below zero early next week.
