Indiana State Police is hiring capitol police officers

INDIANA (WOWO): If you’ve always dreamed about fighting crime and keeping people safe, then this may be the job for you.

Indiana State Police is accepting application for capitol police officers. The deadline to apply is May 2.

Capitol police officers have full police authority and protect elected officials, important people visiting the state and state employees. Capitol officers also protect important government buildings.

Applicants must be a United States citizen, be at least 21 years old on Oct. 21, have a valid driver’s license and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Applicants must also meet a minimum vision requirement of 20/50 acuity in each eye and 20/50 distant binocular acuity in both eyes. Eyes can be corrected or uncorrected.

The position’s starting pay is $35,295 a year and officers are offered a health care plan.
