Indiana University Area Entryway to be Named after Attorney

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Indiana University has announced the new south entryway to its basketball arena will be named after a Bloomington attorney who contributed a $2 million gift.

The school said Wednesday that the entryway to Assembly Hall will be dubbed the Ken Nunn Champions Plaza when the renovated stadium reopens in the fall of 2016.

Nunn estimates he's missed only a handful of Indiana men's basketball games throughout the past four decades. He tells The (Bloomington) Herald Times (http://bit.ly/1Iv9is9 ) that he's honored to be included in the renovation plans.

The project was announced more than a year ago after the athletics department received a $40 million gift from alumna Cindy Simon Skjodt, whom the arena will be renamed after.

Construction on the arena began this week.
