INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ An Indianapolis man convicted two decades ago in his first wife's killing has received a 60-year sentence in his second wife's slaying.
Fifty-two-year-old Tony Degrafreed agreed to plead guilty last month to murder and battery charges in Rebecca Degrafreed's killing. The 47-year-old woman was found dead last year from a head injury in the couple's Indianapolis home.
Marion County prosecutors initially sought life imprisonment for Degrafreed, but that was dismissed after he reached a plea agreement.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1WKiAIZ) the killing occurred less than a decade after Tony Degrafreed was released from prison following his conviction in his first wife's killing.
Degrafreed was convicted in 1995 in the murder of this first wife, Stacy Degrafreed. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but only served 11 years.
