Indianapolis man was shot before crashing motorcycle

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Police are investigating the death an Indianapolis man following a motorcycle crash as a homicide after an autopsy revealed he had been shot twice.

Lawrence Police Department Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff tells The Indianapolis Star 38-year-old Shawn Green had bullet wounds to the shoulder and torso when he crashed the motorcycle about 2 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence, a suburb of Indianapolis.

Woodruff says Green’s death wasn’t the result of the crash, but of the gunshot wounds. Police don’t know where Green was when he was shot. They don’t believe Green was shot while driving.

Woodruff says Green probably didn’t realize how seriously he was injured.
