IPFW Faculty Senate: no confidence in Carwein

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Another declaration of “no confidence” against IPFW Chancellor Vicky Carwein.

Late last month, the school’s faculty issued a “no confidence” notice against Carwein in the wake of announcements that the school would be eliminating several Liberal Arts programs amid a restructuring effort.

Now our partners at ABC21 report the IPFW Faculty Senate has followed that up with an official “no confidence” vote, which passed 27-12 with 5 abstaining Monday afternoon.

The resolution argues that Carwein failed to represent IPFW’s interests properly to the Purdue University Board of Trustees, and also failed to take adequate measures to address budget concerns after five years of dropping enrollment numbers.

Carwein says school officials have told her she has their support and can remain Chancellor.
