Jay County Boy Shot While Hunting

PORTLAND, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was shot and injured by his hunting partner in Jay County Tuesday.

The incident happened in Portland at about 4:30pm, when the 15-year-old was shot in the leg by a 16-year-old boy who was attempting to shoot a running deer. The Jay County Sheriff's Department says the 15-year-old was taken to a hospital with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening. Both boys were wearing hunter orange and are licensed hunters. 

Neither of their names are being released.
