Jeffersonville Police Officer Involved in Crash Monday

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): A Jeffersonville City Police Officer was involved in an accident Monday afternoon. 29-year-old Robert Grinesteff II was responding to a bank robbery alarm, driving his fully marked police car, with the emergency lights and siren on, east on 10th Street. When he approached the intersection of Main Street, Officer Grinesteff crashed into a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Mary Thornton, of Charlestown. The crash happened at the intersection in the lane of the police car. It is unknown at this time if the other vehicle was making a left turn or crossing 10th Street going north on Main. Both drivers were taken to a hospital in Louisville, complaining of pain. The investigation is continuing.
