Kendallville officer hit by motorcycle

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): A police officer in Noble County is recovering after being hit by a motorcycle driven by a fleeing suspect.

The Kendallville Police Department tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 it all happened Friday evening. Another officer had noticed the biker driving recklessly on US 6.

The suspect avoided a number of attempted traffic stops, then pulled into Parkview Noble Hospital and hit Patrolman Blake Kugler, who was blocking the entrance. Police say the suspect sped directly toward Kugler, who was hospitalized after being hit by the vehicle.

The suspect was caught soon afterwards by Albion police. Formal charges will be filed today. The officer’s condition has not been released.
