FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – A court hearing is set for 28-year-old, Emzy McClelland Thornsbury Jr. from Kentucky, who is charged for stealing a truck from a Ft. Wayne man causing a pursuit and crashing into another vehicle.

Around 11:30 p.m. on January 25th a truck was reported stolen from the Phillips 66 gas station on Broadway and Washington.  The stolen truck was being chased by the owner, according to the Journal Gazette.  Soon after the truck was stolen a Fort Wayne Police officer spotted the truck going at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Taylor Street and Portage Boulevard.

Thornsbury led police on a high-speed chase down Taylor Street. A few minutes later the truck was involved in a hit-and-run crash at the 5900 block of West Jefferson Boulevard.   The truck then drove on to the 5900 block of Wilkie Drive and struck a concrete barrier.  Wilkie then fled on foot until he made it to the PNC Bank on West Jefferson Blvd. where he was caught.

Thornsbury is charged with auto theft, resisting law enforcement and failure to remain at the schene of an accident.  The suspect is being held at the Allen County Jail. His hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 4.
