Kip Tom named U.S. Ambassador

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An area agribusinessman has been appointed as the newest U.S. Ambassador.

President Trump appointed Kip Tom, chairman of Tom Farms in Leesburg, to the role during hsi tenure of service as U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture at the State Department.

His agribusiness experience includes work in North America, South America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Tom also currently serves on the boards of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, the Future Farmers of America Foundation, and the National 4-H Foundation.

He received the Agriculture Future of America Ag Leader of the Year Award in 2015.
