FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Steuben County native has earned a promotion within the Indiana State Police force.

State Trooper Kody Buell has been promoted to Corporal. The Angola native, already serving in the Fort Wayne Post, will continue to serve Fort Wayne as District Duty Officer. This means he will directly supervise officers as well as handle administrative duties.

Buell is a 2000 graduate of Angola High School and graduated from the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in October 2004. After serving the Toll Road Post, Buell was transferred to the Fort Wayne post in 2007.
