KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Kosciusko County detectives arrested a Nigerian man in connection to a large financial scam.
44-year-old Kazeem Owonla was sentenced last week and is now in federal custody.
Owonla had connections to various bank accounts by using aliases and non-authorized pictures that were set as his profile picture, including Montana Attorney General Tim Fox.
Last June, police investigated Owonla for theft, involving a local female victim who had been scammed for thousands of dollars.
There were various bank accounts Owonla used, and detectives speculate there are more potential victims.
FBI Agents tracked Owonla in connection to scam behavior when he arrived to the United States last year.
Owonla plead guilty to felony theft. He was ordered by the court to pay victim's restitution and various fines over $16,000 prior to his release from jail.
