Major Developments Unveiled for Downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE (WOWO): Major money  is being pumped into downtown Fort Wayne.

Mayor Tom Henry announced Monday two developments totaling $71 million dollars are coming to the central city. 

A $51 million dollar project, combines private and public investment money and will build a retail and residential project. About $32 million of the project is funded through local developer, Hanning and Bean. It includes 80 apartments, about a dozen condos and six street-front townhouses. It includes a parking garage with a rooftop park with green space.

Also in the announcement, Ash Brokerage, a local insurance and financial services company, will return to downtown in a $19.6 million dollar development at Harrison and Berry Streets. The relocation is expected to create about 115 new jobs, paying around $60,000 a year.
