Man Accidentally Shoots Self Outside Hunting Store


CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) : Police say a man accidentally shot himself in a parking lots outside of a hunting and fishing supply store.



Clarksville Police Department Chief Mark Palmer says the man was preparing to take the firearm into Bass Pro to trade in or redeem for value.



Palmer says man was removing the handgun out of a container around 2 p.m. Saturday when it discharged and he was struck in the stomach by the bullet.



Palmer says the man had thought the firearm was not loaded.



The man was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for his injury, which was not believed to be life-threatening.
