Man in critical condition after early morning shooting

(WOWO News)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  Around 2:44 a.m. on Sunday morning, Fort Wayne Police responded to reports of a person who had been shot in the parking lot of the American Legion on E. Lewis Street.  Upon arrival, officers were informed that the wounded man had been taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.  A short time later, they were told by the hospital that the wounded man was in critical condition.

Police have no suspects or information at this time on the incident as there were no witnesses at the scene when officers arrived.  Detectives plan on interviewing the victim as soon as they are able.  They are also looking in the area for witnesses and any surveillance videos from any near by businesses.

Police are asking if anyone with any information regarding the shooting to please contact police.
