Mayor Henry Announces Flood Buyouts

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Board of Public Works has approved the purchasing of Dalevue and Fernwood area properties because of flooding challenges. Several homeowners have agreed to sell their land to the City of Fort Wayne following frequent flooding, the most recent occurring in April. The houses will be torn down later this year, and a larger storm pipe will be put in place to protect homes that will stay in the area. The investment for the buyouts is $480,000. The process will now move to the City Council for approval.
