Missing IU Student’s Mom Says Feelings Conflicted

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ The mother of a Indiana University student missing for nearly two years says she has conflicted feelings when she hears reports that human remains have been found not far from Bloomington.

Charlene Spierer of Greenburgh, N.Y., tells WISH-TV she and her husband always ask each other, “What do you want the results to be?”’

She says that on the one hand, they desperately want to find their daughter, but that might mean that they’re moving into the next phase of their “nightmare.”

Spierer says Bloomington police are keeping her updated on remains found last week on a ridge in Brown County east of the city. The remains have not yet been identified.
