More Allen County road work set for Monday

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A pair of road projects are kicking off in Allen County Monday.

First, contractors will begin installing a median U-turn at the intersection of US 30 and State Road 101, which means drivers should be ready for lane restrictions and slowdowns.

The work is to improve safety, so drivers won’t have to cross fast-moving lanes of traffic to get across the highway, and INDOT hopes the project will greatly reduce crashes.

Work will also begin on rebuilding State Road 101 in Allen County between US 24 and the Allen/DeKalb County Line, which will include closing the whole 9-mile stretch to through traffic.

A completion date was not provided.
