Competency hearing for Ingram set for July 6th

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A judge will determine if a New Haven man accused of killing his own mother is mentally fit for trial.

43-year-old Chad Ingram is accused of murder in the beating death of his mother, 61-year-old Heidi Colley, in the home they shared last November.

The Journal Gazette reports that two psychologists are set to testify next month on his competency. He refused to participate in one evaluation and another found him incompetent.

Those two experts will testify on July 6th. If Ingram is found unfit for trial, he’ll be sent to a state hospital for treatment, and then the County will try to continue his trial after that treatment is finished.
