Mother in Fort Wayne Wants Justice Department Involvement in Murder Case

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): The mother of a Fort Wayne man gunned down in the street is asking the Justice Department to step in.

Denise Johnson is the mother of 26 year old John Holman, who was killed in a hail of bullets on Eby Avenue last September.

She tells our partners in news at 21Alive that she refuses to accept the county prosecutor's decision to drop murder charges on 25 year old Charles Benson.

Benson was let go after a key witness in the case, Dreyden Troyer, was killed on the train tracks in March. Johnson says Troyer should have been under witness protection until the trial, which was set to start this week.
