Mourdock Responds to Criticism over Rape Comments

Indiana’s Republican Senate hopeful Richard Mourdock spoke this morning and addressed cricism over a comment he made at last night’s debate with Democrat Joe Donnelly and Libertarian Andrew Horning.  When asked if abortion should be allowed in cases of rape or incest, Mourdock responded by saying, “I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that’s something God intended.”  After coming under heavy fire, Mourdock said today that he doesn’t think God wants rape because “rape is evil.”  He went on to say that to twist and suggest anything different is “the wrong thing.”
