New Legislation to be Submitted for Swimming Bans in Rip Currents

A Northern Indiana lawmaker plans to submit legislation that would outlaw swimming in Lake Michigan when rip current warnings are issued. State Senator Jim Arnold says that every year people die in the lake because of rip currents. The proposal would provide enforcement of swimming bans on publicly or government-owned beaches.
