New Life for Monroeville School

MONROEVILLE, Ind. – A former East Allen County Schools elementary building has been sold. The Fort Wayne-South Bend Catholic Diocese paid $190,000 for the building that once housed the Monroeville Elementary School.

According to the Journal-Gazette, the building will be the new home for St. Joseph's Catholic School.

The building was the focus of a legal battle, over how the EACS officials handled the sale. Some contented the school had to remain on a waiting list for four years. This would allow charter schools an opportunity to claim the property.

A judge determined the property could be sold in December.
