Noble County Prosecutor Steven Clouse has filed a criminal charge against 21-year-old Andrew Thiel of Avilla. He’s charged with criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor, for allegedly firing a B.B. gun at a moving East Noble School Corporation school bus, near the entry to the Cranberry Acres subdivision in Avilla.
Thiel is reportedly to have caused damage to two of the bus windows Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday, a Noble Superior Court Judge approved an arrest warrant for Thiel. Any bail for Thiel won’t be set until the initial hearing.
“The Avilla Marshal’s Office has acted very promptly to investigate this matter and secure an arrest warrant for Andrew Thiel. The community should be quite pleased with the job of the officers in this case,” stated Prosecutor Clouse.
“The law enforcement officers involved in this case have done everything to make sure that the community is not at further risk for a similar alleged criminal act. Law enforcement officers are aware of Mr. Thiel’s current location. He is detained. Law enforcement officers are devoted to acting promptly to assure the Mr. Thiel will be taken into custody on the warrant,” commented Clouse.
