WATERLOO, Ind. (AP): A town in northeastern Indiana plans to move its town hall into a former bank branch.

The (Auburn) Star reports the Waterloo Town Hall will move into the former Farmers State Bank building south of downtown. The Town Council approved the move Tuesday. The building was donated to the town after the bank closed on Nov. 30.

Town Manager Tena Woenker says only minor remodeling will be needed to accommodate the offices for the town 30 miles north of Fort Wayne. She says the town hopes to complete the move by June.

The town will try to sell or lease its current Town Hall building, which was built as a hotel in the 1800s. She says the building also housed a mortuary and bank before town offices moved in.
