ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) _ Court records indicate an off-duty central Indiana police officer was traveling 92 mph and made no effort to swerve or stop when his SUV plowed into a car, killing a man and injuring his pregnant wife.
The Herald Bulletin reports the information was in an affidavit supporting charges including operating while intoxicated causing death, operating while intoxicated causing serious injury and reckless homicide against 41-year-old James Foutch.
The crash Sunday on Indiana 32 west of Anderson drove the car into a utility pole, crushing the car's passenger's side and killing 23-year-old Jesse Sperry of Noblesville. His wife, 22-year-old Rebecca Sperry, was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital and gave birth to a daughter later that day.
