FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – One person has died after a house fire that happened on the city’s west side this morning. 

The Fort Wayne Fire Department says they responded to the scene around 4:10 a.m. where they found smoke coming from one of the Coventry Court West Apartments. 

Firefighters were able to locate the woman, who has not yet been identified, and attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful. 

Three other residents were transported to the hospital with injuries. 

The fire remained under investigation.
