Police Arrest Suspect in Bloomington Knife Attack

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP): Police in Bloomington have arrested a man suspected of wounding with a knife two people who came to the aid of a woman he was attacking.

Officers spotted the man on the city's south side Thursday evening and arrested him on an unrelated arrest warrant.

Police Capt. Troy Thomas tells The Herald-Times that investigators believe Wednesday evening's attack at Bloom Apartments was random and that the man didn't know the victims.

An apartment resident told police she was checking her mailbox when a man threw her to the ground and choked her. A man and woman who rushed to help her suffered multiple knife wounds, but Thomas say the injuries aren't life threatening.
