FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The Fort Wayne Police Department is making progress in the case of a weekend stabbing. A person of interest has been identified and interviewed.

In the meantime, the case is being turned over to the Allen County Prosecutor's office for review.

The stabbing happened early Sunday morning. Around 2:00 a.m., Fort Wayne police were called to Bluebird Court near St. Joe Road on report of a stabbing.

When officers got to the scene, they found a man lying in a driveway. He was conscious and appeared to be suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition, where his condition was downgraded to critical.
