Police ID Indianapolis store clerk shot in head…

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indianapolis police have identified a 45-year-old convenience store clerk shot in the head during a robbery.

Police say Harry Briggs of Indianapolis was listed in critical condition Thursday at Eskenazi Hospital.

Officers found Briggs wounded when they arrived Wednesday night at the Kicks 66 station on the city's southwest side.

Police say the shooting was unprovoked. They say detectives believe the gunman fired three shots before forcing another clerk to open the cash register and give him money. The man then ran away from the store.

The other clerk and two customers in the store at the time weren't injured.
